2026-27 Title I, 1003 School Improvement Grant (Innovation)
The ݮƵ (ݮƵ or “the Department”) is now accepting applications from Target Districts for 2026-27 Title I, 1003 School Improvement Grant (SIG) Innovation funds to support innovative practices in schools under School District Superintendent Receivership.
The Department will provide eligible districts with $200,000 in funding per eligible school to support three categories of allowable activities:
- CATEGORY 1: Removing Barriers Through the Superintendent's Receivership Authority
- CATEGORY 2: Exploring and Piloting High-Leverage Turnaround Strategies
- CATEGORY 3: Strengthening Systems Identified in the Continuation Plan
Completed applications, which must include the FS-10 and corresponding School Spending Plan(s), areܱAugust 15, 2026,and will be reviewed on a rolling basis. LEAs are encouraged to submit completed applications as soon as possible to expedite the review and approval process.
